Division II Boys
Live!!! Following a very foggy start the Loyola boys went on upset alert upending the Nationally #13 ranked Thousand Oaks squad. Coming into the meet Loyola was ranked #7 in the NXN California rankings. Following the meet they are sure to move up the rankings.
Led by sophomore phenom Elias Geydon's individual state championship
performance the Loyola boys claimed the team title with a 90-99 victory over the Nat#13 ranked Thousand Oaks team. Geydon cruised through the course in 15:01 (Sophomore Class Record) outdistancing Mountain Views Garrett Lowe by 2 seconds.
Loyola's 78:04 team time was good enough for 5th all-time for the california state meet. Placing three competitors in the top 12 sealed the deal. Before the division I race the time of 78:04 would have ranked #3 All-Time for the Cali state meet!!! With a 15:37 average the men from Loyola narrowly edged out the pre-race favorite Thousand Oaks team who cruised to a 78:35 team time averaging 15:43 per runner over the heralded Woodland Parks course.
Make no mistake about it California is deep and based upon the first two divisional race team performances it is clear that possible all NTN at-large berths may be awarded to California. Never before have we seen such depth coming out of California with possibly four teams capable of placing top ten nationally...and we still have three divisions to go!!!
