Forest Lake Christian Breaks into Top-Ten Finish at Nevada Union Cross Country Invitational

Falcon Men’s Team First Division V Team

 

 

September 13, 2008, Grass Valley, 

CA – Austin Violette, ran a personal best time of 17 minutes 51 Seconds, placing 8th to lead the Falcons to a top-ten overall team finish in the Small School Race (Divisions 3, 4, & 5) at the Nevada Union Cross County Invitational.  Forest Lake was also the first place Division-5 school in Saturdays race. Zac Ponce was the second finisher for the Forest Lake Christian Falcons, clocking 19 minutes 51 seconds for 45th place.  Ashton Santee grabbed 60th place running a personal best time of 21:31.

 

Rounding out the Falcon men’s team was Dawson Young who placed 73rd in 23:08, followed by Amos McCamey and Robert Ring in places 81st and 83rd.

 

In the Women’s Frosh/Soph Race, Forest Lake’s Annie Pearce and Noelle Hayes placed 141st and 157th.  The Falcons did not field a Varsity women’s team in the meet.

 

“Several of our runners demonstrated some very spirited racing today, including newcomer Zac Ponce and Ashton (Santee), who improved his time by over 4 minutes from last week’s race,” said Coach Nick Vogt, “All of our front runners responded well to the deep, competitive field.”

   

The Falcon’s next competition will be the Bret Harte Invitational in Angel’s Camp on September 20, with the Women’s race beginning at 11:00 am, followed by the Men’s race at 11:20.
