Elena Bruckner Valley Christian SJ-CCS (Jim Gensheimer photo above) has established herself as one of the finest combo throwers in US HS history. This past Friday, Bruckner established a new California shot put record with a throw of 54'7" at the WCAL league final which also is US #1 this season. The throw surpasses the previous state record of Anna Jelmini Shafter-CS 54'4.75" in 2009. It is also the 4th best mark in US history trailing only Raven Saunders 56'8.25", Michelle Carter 54'10.75" and Maggie Ewen 54'8.25". Along with her shot put record, Bruckner has also thrown 186'10" which is also US #4 all-time.
