MileSplit US National Foot Locker Power Rankings (Oct. 24)

 

With dozens of state meets happening over the next two weeks, upsets are bound to occur.  This week, little change took place in the rankings, however new #1 rankings for both boys and girls took place in the MileSplit US National Foot Locker Power Rankings.  Luke Puskedra (UT) and Jordan Hasay (CA) took over the top spots after their stellar performances.

 

MileSplit US National Foot Locker Power Rankings (Oct. 24)

 

Boys

 

1. Luke Puskedra (Sr., Judge Memorial, UT) - Won his state meet on Wednesday with a course record time of 14:54 (5k).  Puskedra's time broke the old CR by 13 seconds, held by last year's NCAA DI XC Champion Josh Rohatinsky.

 

2. Chris Derrick (Sr., Neuqua Valley, IL) - Another weekend, another win for Derrick.  Leading his team to a dominating regional performance, sectionals arrives this coming weekend.

 

3. German Fernandez (Sr., Riverbank, CA) - Information Forthcoming.

 

4. Colby Lowe (Sr., Southlake Carroll, TX) - Idle.  No major weekend competition.

 

5. Ben Johnson (Sr., Albuquerque Academy, NM) - With a hard week of work under him, Johnson cruised through the Rio Rancho Jamboree, on his way to a big 22 second win in 15:21.

 

6. Vince McNally (Sr., Conestoga Valley, PA) - Breaking Pennsylvania great Craig Miller's course record by 17 seconds, McNally easily won the Lebanon-Lancaster League Championship in 15:02.

 

7. Kevin Williams (Sr., D'Evelyn, CO) - Easily won regionals while his eyes focused forward on the Colorado State Cross Country Championships this coming weekend.

 

8. Doug Smith (Jr., Gill-St. Bernard's, NJ) - Idle.  No major weekend competition after the big win in Manhattan the weekend before.

 

9. Rob Finnerty (Sr., Burnsville, MN) - Idle.  No major weekend competition as sectional time finally shows face. 

 

10. Brandon Jarrett (Sr., St. Benedict's, NJ) - Idle.  No major weekend competition.

 

 

Girls

 

1. Jorday Hasay (Jr., Mission Prep, CA) - Her 16:42 at Mt. SAC set her PR, while also winning the Super Sweepstakes race for the third year in a row over some intense competition.

 

2. Ashley Brasovan (Jr., Wellington, FL) - Idle.

 

3. Neely Spence (Sr., Shippensburg, PA) - Beating one of the other top in-state runners by 52 seconds, Spence won her conference meet in 18:37 over the 5k layout.

 

4. Carly Seymour (Sr., Central Cambria, PA) - Helped her team to a conference title, while winning the three mile race in 17:07.

 

5. Katie Flood (So., Dowling Catholic, IA) - The super sophomore prepared for her state championships this coming weekend by winning her regional race in an impressive 13:45 for 4k, winning by 48 seconds and guiding her team to a dominating regional win.

 

6. Christine Babcock (Sr., Woodridge, CA) - Won the Jaguar Invitational unchallenged, racing away to victory in 15:22 over 2.6 miles.

 

7. Emily Infeld (Sr., Clev. Heights Beaumont, OH) - Infeld easily won the Lakeland DII District Meet, running 18:09 over 5k. 

 

8. Aurora Scott (Sr., Home Schooled, VA) - Scott remains low-key in her racing.

 

9. Georgia Griffin (Sr., Hanover, NH) - After her second place performance at Manhattan two weeks ago, Griffin laid low while preparing for the bigger meets ahead.

 

10. Kathy Kroeger (Jr., Independence, TN) - Easily won the Metro Championships, crushing the competition by no less than 1:03.
