Girls

Three '06 Foot Locker finalists, two nationally ranked squads, and a handful of other top individual and team talent take to the course Saturday in the Girls Super Sweepstakes.  Jordan Hasay (Jr., Mission Prep, CA) enters the meet as the easy race favorite, showing improved fitness each week.  However, Hasay has a handful of strong challengers coming from Jessica Tonn (So., Xavier Prep, AZ), Kauren Tarver (Sr., Serrano, CA), Sarah Penney (Jr., Xavier Prep, AZ) and Lindsay Prescott (Sr., O'Connor, AZ).  All four individuals pose a strong challenge.  The only top athlete missing is Christine Babcock (Sr., Woodridge, CA).

In the team battle, US #3 Saugus (CA) and US #5 Carondelet (CA) finally meet, with expectations very high for each squad.  Saugus uses their impressive depth to beat teams, while Carondelet needs a big finish to knock off Saugus.  West Valley (AK) travels down from the Great North, seeing if they can improve their status in the Northwest Region, while O'Connor (AZ) and Xavier Prep (AZ) both have frontrunners that help them tremendously in such a hard race.

Boys

The boys race highlights a lot of talent as well.  US #8 Loyola (CA) is the obvious favorite, and while fewer top out-of-state squads take to the Boys Super Sweepstakes, a handful of top California talent present a challenge to Loyola.  Buchanan, Trabuco Hills, Dana Hills and Rancho Buena Vista all hold the potential to knock off the race favorites.  Individually, most of the top teams show at least one top runner.  Loyola has depth, led by senior James Kostelnik, while other athletes like Jeremy Acosta (Sr., Highland, CA) visualize winning the historic race.
