California will be well represented with some of the best runners from the recently completed CA state meet. Here are the athletes that will take on some of the best runners in the Nation including Alexa Efraimson of Camas High School. She may be following Mary Cain in turning pro before her senior year in high school.
Starting in the 100m., Cravon Gillespie of Monrovia HS who finished in 2nd place at the state meet will look to improve his place against a tough field. In the boys 110m. High Hurdles, CA state champion Misana Viltz (Millikan HS) will hope to continue his undefeated season in the high hurdles. Another state champion, Kemonie Briggs of LB Wilson will have plenty of competition with 6 other runners who have dipped under the 47 second barrier this season. Blake Haney of Stockdale HS (above courtesy of Kirby Lee), fresh off his mile PR at the Adidas Grand Prix meet will take on some of the best half milers in the nation in the 800m.  3 of the fastests milers in CA will also compete including super sophomore, Austin Tamagno (Brea Olinda HS), Villa Park's Garrett Corcoran (another big PR at Adidas meet) and this year's latest CA distance stud, Ellis Newton of Mayfair HS.
