Vilhauer, Moussa and Olson Make The USA Junior National XC Team

California runners Justin Vilhauer (Redwood HS), Ammar Moussa (Arcadia HS) and Erik Olson (Stanford University, formally from Novato HS) qualify for the USA Junior National Cross Country Team.

Stanford freshman and former Novato HS, CA runner Erik Olson won the USA Junior National Cross Country Championships with a time of 24:48 over the 8K course.  Olson enjoyed running in the beautiful San Diego weather but found it to be a little warm as he is use to the cooler temperatures of northern California.

UCLA runner Dustin Fay took a commanding lead early in the race but quickly faded as Ammar Moussa (Arcadia, CA) and a few others moved to the front.  Olson took the lead from Ammar Moussa near the 4K mark  and held a steady pace until he crossed the finish line.

Justin Vilhauer (Redwood, CA) had an outstanding performance finishing in 4th place with a time of 25:09.  Moussa finished in 6th place in 25:20.  The top 6 make up the USA Junior Team and will be heading to Punta Umbria Spain on March 20th for the 2011 IAAF World Cross Country Championships.

The win for Olson was a great birthday present for his Grandfather who turned 75 today!
