BOYS ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Jason Gomez (Westmont) --In 2014, Jason Gomez won the middle school 1600 at the Dublin Distance Fiesta with a time of 4:47.38. Fast forward to his junior season in 2017, Gomez finished in 4th place in the 800 at the California state meet with a best of 1:52.22. This past season, Gomez was better than ever as he won his first section title in the 800. At the state meet, Gomez saved his best for last as he attacked the last 300 of the 800 to win with a personal best of 1:50.21.
