Two-time CIF-State 800 meter champion Alyssa Brewer (California/NC) didn't quite get to her US #2 time of 2:08.99 from the Dublin Distance Fiesta but was a definitive wire-to-wire winner in 2:09.81 with Jana Shawver (Lees Summit West, Mo.) second in 2:11.41, followed by Brooke Manson (Eastlake, WA) 2:11.80 and Kelly Makin (Sunset, Or.) 2:12.64. Afterward Brewer confirmed her commitment to USC.

The 3,200 produced the top three times in the US and seven of the top nine led by Hart's 10:02.56 PR. Mariah Castillo (Saugus/SS) was second in 10:09.12 with Gillian Wagner (Redwood/NC) third at 10:14.11. Sophomore Corie Smith (Buchanan/CS) was 6th with a huge PR of 10:21.51 (#5 CA, #8 US).

Finally, with senior Maddy Denner running a 4:44 anchor split, the Oak Ridge Distance Medley Relay team ran a US #1 time of 11:42.85 in a race that included the three fastest times in the US. Santa Cruz, with Mari Friedman on the anchor, was second in 11:48.15, and Great Oak with Tori Gaitan on the anchor, was third in 11:55.52. Gaitan, who had anchored the Wolfpack to 4x8 and 4x16 US #1 times on Friday night, didn't have enough left on Saturday night to protect a sizable lead as Denner and Friedman, two seniors, worked together to narrow the gap before Denner took off and sprinted away for the victory. Denner, the defending CIF-State champion in the 1,600 who was also the runner-up at 3,200, clearly had a lot left after winning the seeded 3,200 on Friday night in 10:28.
