Shenendehowa's Hannah Reale Commits To Wisconsin

Hannah Reale, a NYSPHSAA champion in the 800m and Shenendehowa (NY) High's No. 1 runner in the fall, has committed to the University of Wisconsin.

The senior made her announcement on Twitter recently.

What the Badgers will receive is a versatile athlete with a great resume and an ability to compete in cross country and track and field. This season, Reale has led Shenendehowa at the Brown Northeast Invitational with a 5K PB of 17:34.84 and at the McQuaid Invitational, where she posted a 3-mile PB of 17:32.60.

Reale, a two-time finisher at NXN, finished 42nd at the event in 2016, 10th at NXR New York, seventh at the NY Federation Championships, and 17th at the NYSPHSAA state cross country championships.

But Reale cut her teeth on the track, where as a junior she won her first state championship in the 800m in 2:07.27. Over the indoor season, Reale finished third at New Balance Nationals Indoor with an effort of 2:09.05.

Reale has posted an outdoor/indoor PB of 1:33.93/1:42.70 in the 600m, 2:55.43/2:50.81 in the 1000m and 4:26.88/4:35.62 in the 1500m. She's run a sub-5 1-mile indoors of 4:59.61, has competed in the 2K steeple, and has run 10:00.07/10:18.84 in the 3000m both outdoor and indoors.

The senior was third in the outdoor 1000m championships this past spring.
