Come watch Devon Allen & Jonathan Cabral prep for World Track & Field Championships



Come watch and interact with Olympians Devon Allen, Johnathan Cabral, their coach and Maine native Jamie Cook during an instructional practice, followed by a Q & A session as they prepare for the World Track & Field Championship @ Thornton Academy's Hill Stadium on July 3rd 10:30am-1:30pm.  All Americans and Maine natives Kate Hall and Isaiah Harris will also be in attendance for the meet and greet and Q & A. 

Jamie Cook, has seventeen years coaching experience in the Pac-12 and the Ivy Leagues.  Jamie's focus during his tenure in track and field has been with sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, pole vaulters and multi-events.  Jamie's collective teams have won a combined 14 NCAA Team Championships and 18 conference championships to date.  In 2016 Jamie had two finalists in the Rio Olympics in the 110m High Hurdles, Devon and Johnathan.  Jamie specializes in athletic mindset and with expertize in managing, motivating, and leadership with his athletes both on and off the competition fields.  

Devon Allen is a 2016 US Olympian in the 110m hurdles. Allen finished 5th in Rio Olympics this past summer. Most recently he returned from his second ACL injury to finish third in 2017 US Track & Field Championship to qualify for the World Championship in London. His personal best in the event is 13.03. While competing for the University of Oregon Allen won NCAA titles in the 110m hurdles during the 2014 & 2016 seasons. He was the US Champion in the hurdles in 2014 & 2016. 

Jonathan Cabral, a dual citizen of the US & Canada will also participate in the workout & Q & A session. Cabral competed for Canada in the 2016 Olympics where he finished 6th in the final.  His personal best in the 110m hurdles in 13.35. Cabral attended the University of Oregon where he was a 4 time All-American. 

Kate Hall of Casco, the former Lake Region standout who won 26 State Championships. Hall who now competes for the University of Georgia won the 2017 NCAA long jump title breaking her own Georgia school with her collegiate best of 22-1. She is the high school & American junior national record holder in the long jump with her personal best 22-5 and finished 10th in the 2016 Olympic trials.

Isaiah Harris a Lewiston native will be available to talk about his experience at Penn State University, and qualifying for the 2017 US team for the World Championship in the 800m. Isaiah the Maine high school all-time record holder in the 800m has improved from 1:49.63 to 1:44.53 in just two years. Most recently he finished as the US runner-up in the 800m running a personal best 1:44.53 to qualify for the World Championship. He was 6th in the Olympic Trials in 2016 in the 800m.
