Sacramento Meet of Champions Preview

400 Relay
Girls Meet Record: San Lorenzo 45.95 1999
Boys Meet Record: Vallejo 41.16 1999

The clear favorites in this event are the Carson (LA) girls. They started their scoring at last year's state meet by winning this event and recently won the Arcadia Invitational with a time of 45.90. That time places them US #5 and CA #1. If the baton makes it all the way around the track, Carson will cross the finish line victorious and will have time to check the clock before the 2nd place finisher. The teams that will battle for second will be looking to get the upper hand in the North Coast Section as Bishop O'Dowd (NCS) 47.94 and Carondelet (NCS) 48.03 come in with very close season best efforts.

Another team making the trek up north will be Central from the Central Section. They come in as the favorites in the boys' 400 relay with a season best of 41.98 and that ranks them as CA #9. They achieved that time at the West Coast Relays on April 1st. No foolin'! A few teams that will be looking to join the sub 42 second relay club will be San Leandro (NCS) 42.55, Golden Valley (SJS) 42.61 and Antelope (SJS) 42.70.
