Don't Skip the Friday Night Relays and Saturday Field Events at Arcadia!

There are only a handful of high school regular-season invitationals that are truly national in scope, attracting attention (and athletes) from all across the country. Arcadia is one of them, and it looks like the 2017 edition of the meet will rank among the best ever! As usual, there are stellar fields assembled for the legendary 3200's on Saturday night, the event that originally catapulted Arcadia into national consciousness. That spirit has begun to spread to other individual events, as evidenced by the presence of a certain high school Olympian in the hurdles this year.

Arcadia is really two meets: you have the star-studded night sessions on both Friday and Saturday, and there's also another entire meet's worth of varsity competition during the day Saturday. If you're only paying attention to those glamorous Saturday night track events, you're missing out on some of the best competition in America. The Arcadia Invitational has become a hotbed of top performances in the relays on Friday night and the field events all weekend, and those athletes often don't get the recognition they deserve. I'll get to the big names in the individual track events, too, but not before I take the opportunity to shine a spotlight on some underrated Arcadia events!

(Note: Saturday night track preview is still coming. For now, enjoy the Friday night relays and field event previews on the next two slides!)
