The New Balance Azusa Meet of Champions takes place this Saturday at Azusa Pacific University. Last year's meet resulted in Connor Dunne (San Clemente) winning the stacked boys' mile in 4:04.59 and leading ten other runners under 4:10. According to the meet website, new world records were established with 405 boys dipping under the 5 minute mark along with 268 girls under the 6 minute mark. This year's version promises to bring some of the best distance runners in the state to test themselves and throw down some great distance times.
