Week 4 is a transition point of sorts for California cross country. The early season meets, which generally separate athletes grade level, will begin to give way to meets that mimic the championship atmosphere we will see in the postseason. Major invitationals the next several weekends will feature more varsity races, putting the best runners together regardless of school year.
This weekend's meets, however, still feature a lot of grade-level races, and we'll do our best to identify the top performances from each. It's also worth noting that this is a weekend where several California schools choose to travel outside of the state for competition, including meets in Oregon, Idaho, and Minnesota.
