We want to take our meet coverage to the next level in the 2016-2017 school year, and we're looking for new contributors! We want to be able to get to multiple meets in the same weekend, and so we want to find additional photographers in key cities to build on the regular contributors we already have. MileSplit photographers are freelance workers that get paid according to the size and importance of the meet, and this can be a solid source of supplemental income for someone willing to work a few weekends a month.
You don't have to be a professional! We certainly welcome established and experienced commercial photographers, but we have regular contributors that are current and former parents who picked up the hobby while chronicling their child's accomplishments. We also have former athletes themselves, who have an interest in photography either as a hobby or as a profession, who contribute for us to earn spending money and build a portfolio, or just to stay connected to the sport. If you have a nice camera and you love cross country and track, we may be willing to pay you for photos!
Skills Required:
- Access to a D-SLR camera and lens(es)
- Ability to process photos (simply) and post them to the website
- Basic knowledge of cross country and track
- Ability and willingness to travel to meets in your area
- BONUS: Ability and willingness to also get race video and/or interviews will earn extra $!
Photographers wanted everywhere in California, but particularly in these areas:
- Los Angeles, including Long Beach and western valley areas like Burbank & Thousand Oaks
- Riverside/Inland Empire
- Anaheim/Orange County
- Redding
- Bay Area: San Jose, San Francisco, Oakland, North Bay
- Sacramento/Stockton
