Osborn Joins Team USA for World U20 Champs

After being part of an intense shot put competition in Greensboro last weekend that saw three young men exceed 71 feet, the distances this weekend may have been a bit of a letdown for Bronson Osborn.  The end result was certainly not a disappointment, though, as the Esperanza junior finished second to earn an automatic berth in Poland in three weeks!  His best mark was 65' 10.25", putting him 4" behind winner Adrian Piperi III but solidly ahead of the rest of the field, which included national leader Jordan Geist.

Osborn joins Fiona O'Keeffe and Elena Bruckner as California high school athletes that have made it onto Team USA for the IAAF World U20 Championship.  The meet will be held in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on July 19th - 24th. Since the age limit for competition is 19, there are numerous college freshmen competing in the USATF trials this weekend in Clovis, along with top high school athletes from across the country.
