MileSplit Foot Locker National Power Rankings - Weekend Wrap-Up

Many of the top individuals took the weekend off after strong performances at their respective state meets the week before.  However a few of the top runners did compete and finished with amazing results.  Boys US #1 Chris Derrick won the NTN Midwest Regional by nearly twenty seconds, while girls US #1 Jordan Hasay won by over 90 seconds at her Sectional race.

1. Jordan Hasay (Jr., Mission Prep, CA) - Many thought Hasay would have a hard time getting into championship shape this season as quickly as she has coming off of a long track season.  However, Hasay continues to dominate, winning her sectional competition this past week by over 90 seconds in 17:26.

2. Ashley Brasovan (Jr., Wellington, FL) - Brasovan's first place effort at her Florida regional helped propel her team to a one point win over Cypress Bay 69-70.  Brasovan ran away early, finishing the 5k race in 17:13.

3. Carly Seymour (Sr., Central Cambria, PA) - Idle.

4. Neely Spence (Sr., Shippensburg, PA) - Ran blazing 17:18 on the Foot Locker Northeast course.  Spence competed in the New York Road Runners Cross Country Championships.

Katie Flood (So., Dowling Catholic, IA) - Earlier in the season Flood beat '06 FL National third place finisher Emily Sisson at the Roy Griak Invitational by a large margin.  Saturday saw that dual happen again with Flood repeating her heroics.  The talented sophomore beat Sisson by 38 seconds, running 17:35.  Flood started the race in a speedy 5:26 opening mile and never looked back.

6. Kathy Kroeger (Jr., Independence, TN) - Idle.

9. Aurora Scott (Sr., Home Schooled, VA) - No results to report.

10. Emily Sisson (So., Millard North, NE) - Sisson ran a strong race Saturday but could not match the strength of US #5 Katie Flood.  Sisson took second at the NTN Heartland Regional in 18:13, 38 seconds behind Flood.

12. Nadya Bishton (Sr., Mountain Ridge, AZ) - Idle.
