With state meet concluding, and the season starting to point towards post-season races, the MileSplit Foot Locker National Power Rankings expanded to twelve athletes a piece this week.  Newcomers to the list include: Griff Graves (VA), Brian Leung (NJ), Claire Durkin (OH) and Nadya Bishton (AZ).

MileSplit Foot Locker National Power Rankings (Nov. 6)

Boys

1. Chris Derrick (Sr., Neuqua Valley, IL) - Perhaps the most impressive performance of the year, Derrick ran 13:52 to win the Illinois Boys AA individual title.  His time ranks as second all-time on the course, only behind the great Craig Virgin.  Derrick's mark was the first time someone broke 14-minutes on the course in thirty years.

2. Luke Puskedra (Sr., Judge Memorial, UT) - Regular Season Complete.  Idle.

3. German Fernandez (Sr., Riverbank, CA) - A blazing win at the Frogtown League Meet keeps Fernandez at number three.  His time of 14:51 crushed the field, as he continues to show healthy signs of speed.

4. Colby Lowe (Sr., Southlake Carroll, TX) - Lowe ran over half a minute faster than he did last year at the Region I Meet.  His time of 14:25 set the course record and helped his team to the title.

5. Ben Johnson (Sr., Albuquerque Academy, NM) - Johnson's goal Saturday was to help his team win and show senior leadership.  He accomplished both as the team sat out their 3-5 runners.  Johnson won by 16 seconds in 15:39.

6. Kevin Williams (Sr., D'Evelyn, CO) - Regular Season Complete.  Idle.

7. Rob Finnerty (Sr., Burnsville, MN) - Finnerty won the Minnesota State Championships in 15:28.  He pulled away from the field and won by nine seconds.

8. Doug Smith (Jr., Gill-St. Bernard's, NJ) - Smith ran 15:35 at the NJISAA Championships.  His time was the fastest of the day regardless of which race, and won his race by 48 seconds.

9. Vince McNally (Sr., Conestoga Valley, PA) - McNally came down with a harsh intestinal illness this past week but still ran in his state meet.  McNally was up at the front for much of the race, fading over the last part of the race to 18th.

10. Griff Graves (Sr., Abingdon, VA) - Graves earned himself a big win Friday, beating another national caliber athlete in Peter Dorrell.  Graves beat Dorrell by a sound 24 seconds.

11. Sean Keveren (Sr., Brentwood, TN) - Keveren won the Tennessee Boys AAA individual title, running a time of 15:46.

12. Brian Leung (Sr., WW-South, NJ) - Running under control, Leung won the NJSIAA Central Sectional 4A Championships in 15:27.  His 16 second victory should provide some momentum as the state meet draws near.

Girls

1. Jordan Hasay (Jr., Mission Prep, CA) - Results Forthcoming.

2. Ashley Brasovan (Jr., Wellington, FL) - Brasovan ran 18:06 on a windy and wet day, winning her third consecutive district title.  Her effort also helped her team to first place.

3. Carly Seymour (Sr., Central Cambria, PA) - Seymour continued her dominant ways this season, winning the Pennsylvania State Meet AA individual championship in 17:49, 40 seconds faster than anyone else in her race.  Her first place finish also helped her team win the state title.

4. Neely Spence (Sr., Shippensburg, PA) - Running under the weather, Spence ran for the victory at the Pennsylvania State Meet rather than time.  Spence easily beat the field in 18:14, winning by 25 seconds.

5. Katie Flood (So., Dowling Catholic, IA) - Regular Season Complete.  Idle.

6. Kathy Kroeger (Jr., Independence, TN) - Another big win, another big step towards the results of last fall.  Kroeger easily won her state championship in the Girls AAA race, running 17:57 and beating runner-up Virginia Hine by 40 seconds.

7. Christine Babcock (Sr., Woodbridge, CA) - Won her league championship run on her home course.  Babcock ran easily away from the field, finishing in a time of 16:58 for the three mile course.

8. Georgia Griffin (Sr., Hanover, NH) - Griffin won the New Hampshire State Meet of Champions by over a minute, completing the 5k course in 17:27.

10. Emily Sisson (So., Millard North, NE) - Regular Season Complete.  Idle.

11. Claire Durkin (Sr., Worthington, OH) - Won the Girls DI individual title in 17:10 over the 5k course.  Beat runner-up Brooklyne Ridder by 28 seconds.  Durkin's mark was the fastest mark of the day, and twenty seconds faster than DII winner (FL National Finalist) Emily Infeld.

12. Nadya Bishton (Sr., Mountain Ridge, AZ) - Big wins just keep on piling up for Bishton.  Nadya beat her twin sister Nastia for the state title Saturday in Arizona, while also beating FL National Finalist Jessica Tonn (So., Xavier Prep) by 35 seconds.
