Nathan Rodriguez (Sr., Corona del Sol) won the Boys Brook PR Mile at the Mt. Sac Relays this morning by taking an early lead and pushing the pace hitting the 800 at 2:06.18. Ellis Newton (Mayfair, CA) tried to make a move on Rodriguez in the final 100 but Rodriguez was too strong finishing the race in 4:12.89.
"My Strategy was the same as last week," said Rodriguez after the race. "It was equally as competitive today as it was last weekend so I figure the same game plan would be appropriate and so that's just the way I approaced the race.....kind of agressively and not afraid to lead. "
Both Rodriguez and Newton received their Golden Tickets to the Brooks PR Invitational in June.
